What is Lactose Intolerance? What is the percentage of people suffering from lactose intolerance?Lactose intolerance is a dietary condition that arises when the body does not produce enough lactase enzymes, normally produced by the small intestine to digest lactose in foods. Lactose intolerance can be hereditary or can develop as a result of gastrointestinal disorders that damage the digestive tract. It is estimated that up to 70% of the world population suffer from lactose intolerance. According to a U.S. study, 90% of Asians have this condition. Furthermore, an NUS study has been estimated that 95% of Singaporean Chinese suffer from lactose intolerance

What is milk allergy?Milk protein that has not been broken down by digestive enzymes may trigger allergic reactions throughout the body, with symptoms that may include redness of lips, abdominal cramps (colic), vomiting and/or diarrhea. Cows' milk allergy is mainly a condition of infancy and around nine out of ten of those affected grow out of it by the age of three. If anyone has a concern, they should consult a medical doctor. Please note that milk allergy is different from lactose intolerance.

Products proven to be effective for lactose intolerance?DairyCare is the only proven once-a-day dairy digestive supplement that effectively takes care of lactose intolerance. There are a few short-acting lactase replacement supplements available that require dosages prior to every meal containing foods with lactose (e.g. dairy). This is not only inconvenient but these supplements may not fully eliminate the symptoms of lactose intolerance. At present, there are no products available in Singapore that specifically treats lactose intolerance except DairyCare.

How can I be sure DairyCare works immediately?DairyCare effectively delivers “active” Lactobacillus Acidophilus cultures to the small intestine, without being eliminated by the stomach’s acid along the way (unlike other cultured products / yoghurt drinks) as a result of Dairy Care’s patented (No. 6,008,027) enteric coated capsules. Dairy foods/meal will take anytime from 30 minutes to 2 hours for the body to digest, and DairyCare’s “active” Lactobacillus Acidophilus cultures would have already been released in the small intestine before, thereby naturally producing the lactase enzyme required for lactose digestion.

-
Why is the enteric coating of capsule important?Enteric coating of the capsules helps to effectively deliver “active” Lactobacillus Acidophilus cultures to the small intestine, without being eliminated by the stomach’s acid along the way, unlike other cultured products.
-
There are many products on the market with Lactobacillus Acidophilus cultures, why is DairyCare unique and different?"DairyCare is unique because of its enteric coating, which allows more “active” Lactobacillus Acidophilus cultures to reach the small intestine without them being destroyed by stomach acid. This safe and effective supplement is the only one that uses an exclusive and proprietary processing technology to manufacture in this form the only “active” Lactobacillus Acidophilus product on the market at present.

Dosage and duration of treatment of DairyCare? While the severity of Lactose Intolerance will differ in individuals, with daily use DairyCare™ has been proven to be able to control the most severe chronic symptoms resulting from Lactase Deficiency and provide up to 24-hour relief. It is recommended that a daily regimen of DairyCare™ be established as the most effective 24-hour remedy to the recurring symptoms of Lactose Intolerance. Daily use will also provide the maximum additional health benefits provided by the active ingredient in DairyCare™, Lactobacillus Acidophilus. It is highly recommended that all consumers start their use of DairyCare™ by LOAD DOSING. The suggested Load Dose starts with 2 DairyCare™ capsules in the morning prior to eating and then 2 DairyCare™ capsules approximately 10 to 12 hours later, at the evening meal. This Load Dose regimen should be followed for the first 7 days. Thereafter, the daily regimen to achieve 24-hour protection should be 1 to 2 DairyCare™ capsules each morning prior to consuming the first meal of the day. Consumers that are non-chronic Lactose Intolerant sufferers will normally find that a 1 capsule per day dose of DairyCare™ is sufficient to relieve them from the symptoms of Lactase Deficiency. Chronic sufferers who do not maintain 24-hour relief from a one capsule morning dose of DairyCare are recommended to increase their daily dose to 2 DairyCare™ capsules in the morning. After initial Load Dosing, some consumers may determine that their Lactose Intolerance can be controlled by using DairyCare™ on an "As Needed" basis. Typically, when used "As Needed", DairyCare™ has been proven to provide up to 10-hours relief from the symptoms of Lactose Intolerance. It is recommended that parents remove the content within the capsule and add it to milk formula or baby food. Babies below 1 year of age are recommended to start with ½ capsule per day. IF NEEDED, then apply the same dose per feeding. Young children of 2 to 6 years of age are recommended to start with 1 capsule per day, divided in 2 doses (before breakfast & dinner). : Do not use this product if you have had an allergic reaction to the lactase enzyme (a rare allergy that may only affect 0.001% of the population). If gastrointestinal symptoms persist, consult a physician about a possible food allergy or other digestive disorder. Keep out of reach from children. Keep in a cool, dry place or refrigerate.
